I Am Enough

Last Saturday, I felt a bit under the weather, so I decided to lie on my couch and catch up on a few things. One of them was a video by Marisa Peer about self-confidence - "Why All Of Our Insecurities Come from This One Thing."

In the video, Marissa talked about how most fears, at their very core, come down to the feeling of "I am not good enough."

It's a pretty enlightening video. Here is an excerpt. The full video can be found on Mindvalley.com.

This concept of not feeling good enough wasn't new to me. I first heard about it back in July at Unleash The Power Within when Tony Robbins talked about the two primary needs of every human being - the fear not being loved and the fear of not being enough.

The difference for me that Saturday morning was that I was ready to HEAR the message. Not just logically in my brain like I did at Tony Robbins, but I heard it in my heart.

I am enough!

Inspired, I tried something that Marissa suggested. I wrote the words "I am enough" on my bathroom mirror. The way my apartment is laid out, and since I work from home, I can see it from almost every room in my apartment.

I knew the chatter in my brain was going to be pretty critical of my experiment. But by the afternoon, I noticed that the chatter had changed. Though I started the morning not feeling very well, by the afternoon, my mood was lighter and more positive. If I could get this kind of results after only a few hours, what could happen if I did this experiment for an entire month?

I would encourage you to listen to the video and try this yourself. If by chance it doesn't resonate with you, don't give up! At the right place and the right time, the right message will find you too.
