3 Reasons Why Your Business Is Stuck

When I decided to become a coach, I was working for one of the biggest tech companies in the world.

And while in many ways it was fun and glamorous, it was also one of the darker periods of my life.

I was clawing my way out of my hole of depression while working 70 hour weeks in a highly competitive, thankless, and micromanaging environment.

So when I decided to pursue my coaching career, I had to make a choice: I could stay in a job that was making me miserable, or I could quit and focus 100% of my attention on certification.

I decided to take the crazy choice and quit.

Now that I was able to focus my attention on coaching, I had the time and luxury of doing everything I needed to do to set up my business.

It was a fun and exciting time because I was learning new things and tapping into my creative side. I designed my first website, started my own social media accounts, created my own graphics, and did my own bookkeeping.

After about a year, it slowly dawned on me that graphic design and copywriting were not my strong suits and the length of time it took me to get things done was close to forever. Unfortunately, I spent all of my time building my foundation that I wasn't getting any clients.

How was it possible that I was STILL working 70 hours a week and not making any money?

It was around this time that I found my mentor. She opened up my eyes to what was possible. That I could be a successful coach, who made $10,000 a month WITHOUT working my ass off.

All I had to do was give myself permission to let go.

I wish I could say that I changed overnight.

It actually took me another two years to shed the overworked, perfectionist, controlling, and corporate persona that I had spent 18 years building.

Today I'm very happy to announce that I am quick to hire someone to do the administrative work and graphic design because 1. I accept that I am not good at it and 2. My time is better served doing what I do best - coaching my clients.

So if you are telling yourself:

  1. You can't hire someone because you can do it all yourself.

  2. You don't know who to hire or where to find them.

  3. You don't have the money.

Then you, my dear friend, are painting yourself into a corner and your business will not grow.

There are thousands of professionals out there with fantastic expertise, who are just waiting for your call.

And there are thousands of clients out there waiting for you to coach them.

Do yourself a favor and give yourself permission to do what you were put on this Earth to do...

Be a great coach.
